The film follows Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), a secret agent working for the Impossible Mission Force (IMF). Ethan and his team, consisting of Claire Phelps (Emmanuelle Béart), Franz Krieger (Jean Reno), and Jack Harmon (Jon Voight), are tasked with stopping a rogue agent, Dimitri Vlasov (Ving Rhames), who has stolen a highly classified document containing the identities of undercover IMF agents.
