The new patch alters the Bandit’s Pass encounter. Previously, you could avoid a battle with the Bandit Leader using a dialogue check. In v3.26, this check requires a minimum Reputation score of 15. To achieve this, ensure you complete the "Old Man’s Herbs" side quest in the very first village before entering the pass.
