Thiruvasagam (meaning "The Sacred Utterance") is a collection of poems written by Manikkavasagar, a 9th-century Tamil saint. In 1992, Ilayaraja took these verses and composed a full-length Western classical symphony. The project featured the (based in London) and was conducted by the renowned composer John Scott .
