The Conjuring 3 is based on a true story and takes place in 1981. The movie follows paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) as they help a family who is being terrorized by a malevolent spirit. The family, known as the Perrons, had previously been helped by the Warrens in the 1970s, and the events of the movie take place several years later.
