32-bit versions of Windows cannot run 64-bit software. Chrome’s 32-bit build uses less RAM (important for old PCs with 2GB or 4GB of RAM) and has better compatibility with legacy plugins or NPAPI-based extensions (though NPAPI is mostly deprecated, some enterprise tools still rely on 32-bit hooks).
