While distressing fabric and adding patchwork, Kaka discovers a hidden scribble in the lining: a kid’s shorthand drawing and a phone number. The number is old, the digits faded like a palm print. Rafi recognizes the handwriting from the photograph and says quietly: “This was my dad’s jacket. He worked at Babul Cinema.” Kaka’s chest tightens; Babul Cinema is where his son used to sneak in as a boy to watch matinees.
