Version 1.050 is a legacy version. It was specifically engineered to support Canon models released around the late 2000s and early 2010s. Using it on modern MegaTank (G-Series) or modern TS-series printers will fail or cause damage.

A significant limitation of Version 1.050 is its inability to interface with newer Canon printers. Starting around 2015-2016, Canon modified the USB identification protocol used in service mode. When newer models enter service mode, they present a different USB Device ID to the computer. Version 1.050 is hardcoded to recognize older IDs and will not detect these newer printers, necessitating the use of newer versions (e.g., v3400 or v3600).
