Combine the reset with a waste ink pad replacement every 12–18 months (depending on print volume). If you are uncomfortable opening the printer, many local repair shops will reset the counter and replace the pad for $20–$40 – still cheaper than buying a new L1250.

The Epson L1250 is an EcoTank printer designed for high-volume printing. Like all inkjet printers, it performs regular head cleaning cycles to prevent clogging. During these cycles, ink is ejected into a waste ink pad located at the bottom of the printer. To prevent overflow, the printer firmware counts the number of cleaning cycles.
