A "cracked" version is an illegally modified copy of the game designed to bypass the DRM (Digital Rights Management), usually Steam’s CEG (Custom Executable Generation) and Steam Stub. The goal is simple: allow you to play the game without purchasing it.

Do not buy the base game alone. The Ultimate Edition includes the Dream Packs (which contain the Nürburgring Nordschleife and laser-scanned cars). It is almost always cheaper than buying the DLC separately.
